Charles Brand and LaganMEICA delivered the Magheramason WwTW on behalf of Northern Ireland Water. Works involved the design, procurement, construction, commissioning, testing, demolition, de-commissioning, operation and maintenance of all civil, mechanical and electrical elements of the Works.
The plant provides a robust system capable of producing high quality effluent with respect to carbonaceous BOD removal only. The construction of the works was phased to ensure that the existing plant performance and consent could be maintained at all times and that daily operations were unaffected. As part of a value engineering initiative, the existing upward flow storm tank was reused with and upgrade to the storm return system.
