FK Lowry have completed Piling Works for a new Health & Wellbeing Building for the University of Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. Main Contractor, BAM Construction were awarded a £54m contract to build a new health campus for the University of Huddersfield.
BAM will be delivering a new 10,000 sq ft health innovation campus, to be built on the grounds of a former leisure centre at Southgate. The first phase of the build in Southgate will provide a new location for the university’s health and wellbeing academy and will see the campus kitted out with classrooms, labs and other specialist learning facilities. This includes a mock-up operating theatre and a mock community flat designed to practice visiting patients at home.
FK Lowry were sub-contracted to install 205 No. 600mm & 900mm dia. Large Diameter Rotary Bored Piles utilising two of their Soilmec SR-95 Piling Rigs over an 8 week programme.
