FK Lowry Piling have successfully completed a £200,000 Precast Driven Piling Project for Galliford Try in Brigg, North Lincolnshire.
The project involved the design and installation of 551 No. 250mm x 250mm Square Precast Driven Piles to approximate depths of 12m for a new Schools Academy.
Work on the new £13.9M academy commenced in the Summer and is being financed by the Education Funding Agency and should be complete by December 2016. The build is part of the PSBP (Priority School Building Programme) which is funded by the EFA (Education Funding Agency).
“We were delighted to be part of the new build at Vale Academy and in doing so add another Education Project to our growing portfolio of work. In terms of ground conditions, we encountered a mixture of Made Ground, soft to firm Silts before more competent cohesive material was found at depth. We verified our pile design by means of 55 No. Dynamic Tests and 4 No. Static Load Tests on working piles and our sub-contract package came in within programme and budget.”Sam Pyper, FK Lowry Contracts Manager
