Pendleton House is a unique new development in the Greater Manchester suburb of Pendleton. Located at the site of the former Salford Coroners Court. The development involves the restoration of the period court building ‘Pendleton House’ with three new floors added on top. In addition, a new extension to the existing building houses a further 44 apartment units.

The Scheme benefits from an Extant planning approval for 71 units, however a current redesign is underway to bring efficiency to the approved scheme and a revised planning application is expected to be lodged in Q1 2022.

Construction is expected to start during 2022. The location offers proximity to Salford University and Salford Media City and is located opposite the historic Parish Church of St Thomas.

Did you know?

  • Pendleton House was originally built in 1936 during the great depression as a public assistance office. The poor and unemployed would be subject to a stringent ‘means test’ to ascertain whether they qualified for welfare assistance. When Pendleton Town hall was demolished in 1970 the Coroners Court was relocated to Pendleton House where it remained until 2005. The building was then occupied by Salford Council and the NHS until it was vacated in 2011.
