FK Lowry Piling welcomes Amey Design Team to Stafford

29 Feb 2016

FK Lowry Piling, part of the Lagan Construction Group of companies, has recently completed the preliminary testing phase for client Amey for the proposed new Stafford Western Access Route. During the installation process, FK Lowry Piling welcomed the Amey Design Team to site to witness the installation of the Driven Precast Piles.

The Stafford Western Access Route (SWAR) will be a new road connecting the A518 Newport Road to the A34 Foregate Street, Stafford, as part of a growth deal for Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. The trial test piling operation is required to determine the suitability of the permanent pile foundations for the Stafford Western Access Route scheme. This involved the design and installation of 3 No. number piles, similar to those that will be used in the main scheme

“We were extremely pleased to continue our association with Amey, by embarking on the test piling phase of the scheme. The SWAR Project is an exciting scheme and one that we have been pleased to be involved with. We were delighted to welcome the Amey Design Team to site in Stafford to actually see the Piles being driven by our Juntann PM20 Driven Piling Rig.”

The project comes as FK Lowry Piling continues to broaden its Civils Infrastructure Portfolio and have now completed a number roads projects throughout Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
