FK Lowry welcomes potential new Apprentices

17 Dec 2019

FK Lowry were delighted to introduce two local students to the Piling & Ground Engineering Industry. Darren and Daniel from City of Armagh High School and Dromore High School spent their week-long placement with FK Lowry Piling as part of their Careers Development. The students were escorted to Projects in Derry as well as our state-of-the-art, Pond Park Precast Manufacturing Facility in Lisburn. The students are considering entering the Civil Engineering Industry through an Approved Apprenticeship Training Programme and were also welcomed by one of our Civil Engineering Apprentices, Rebecca Connor, who is currently undertaking her Civil Engineering Training through the Work+ Initiative. The joint ICE, DfE Scheme enables apprentices to earn as they learn from the age of 16, gaining invaluable industry experience and provides a direct progression pathway to higher levels of professional and technical work.

Darren & Daniel are pictured receiving a small token of our appreciation from Piling Director, Niall McGill and FK Lowry Civil Engineering Apprentice, Rebecca Connor.
