Ahead of NI Hospice’s Belfast Castle Walk (sponsored by Rosemount Homes), taking place on 1st April, Lagan Construction Group embraced this year’s slogan “Go the distance, make a difference” and asked staff members at Rosemount House to take part in the difficult challenge of walking 26 miles – (the length of a marathon!) – in one working day.
How did it work?
A treadmill was set up in the main reception of Rosemount House the morning of Monday 20th March 2017 for one day only and staff were invited to take part by choosing 20 minute slots throughout the day.
Combined distance achieved: 33.04 miles
Time taken to walk 26 miles: 379 minutes
Furthest distance travelled in 20min slot: 1.7miles (Dave Hill, CDF Highways Director)
Surprise visit
Local celebrity, May McFettridge kindly dropped into Rosemount House to help support the treadmill fundraiser and encourage staff to take part in the Belfast Castle Walk on April Fool’s day where May will be in attendance, encouraging walkers in her own special way.
