When your Dad visits your school to build a bridge!

20 May 2019

Niall McGill, FK Lowry Director, visited his Son’s School St John’s Coleraine recently and brought with him the ICE 17 metre Suspension Bridge which FK Lowry currently sponsor. The ICE Bridges to Schools Initiative gives the children the opportunity to construct a substantial structure using simple methods and learn about Health and Safety issues. The activity allows children to take responsibility for their actions and develop their team building skills. Primary 6 and 7 pupils took part in the bridge building activity and Niall’s Son, Paddy, who is in Primary 1 along with his class mates had the opportunity to walk across the finished bridge.

Niall McGill, FK Lowry Director, commented: “As sponsors of the ICE Bridges to Schools Initiative it was the perfect opportunity to bring the bridge to my Son’s school. I am passionate about Civil Engineering and truly believe that you cannot start early enough planting the seed and educating children about what the industry has to offer”.
